Long ago in the world of Ispar there lived a mage known as Elopia. She lived lived with her husband a renowned warrior called Malakioan. They adventured all over Ispar together, their ability to use magic and steel together made extremely deadly to their enemies.
Soon Elopia became pregnant. They traveled to a nearby town for her to give birth. A few days before she went into labor she caught a fever and became ill. The birthing process was long and strenuous for her. Eventually she gave birth to a son and she died shortly after. The child was named Optoman. He shared his father's warrior ability and his mother's magical talent.
Since the child was born Malwaki stopped traveling and devoted his time to raising his son. Optoman grew to be a powerful warrior and skilled in the ways of item magic.
One day the town was attacked by marauders while Optoman was in the hills practicing his magic skills. The villagers defended themselves bravely but they were no match for the marauders. Optoman's father and all of the other villagers were slain in the battle - the mauraders burning the village to the ground. When Optoman returned he saw the horrible destruction he decided to form an order on the virtues of brotherhood and honor to prevent this from happening to others.
After burying all the bodies Optoman began to assemle this Order of The Flame. At first, few were willing to follow, he gained very few at first but as his reputation grew so did his ranks. He and his followers went on numerous adventures, which I cannot list here because you would be reading for several hours.
Eventually when he and a few of his followers were teleported to Dereth they continued to recruit members and uphold their charter. The order is still currently growing on this new land of mysteries and wonders.
